*// Of bliss and love Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) are best friends who since childhood have planned every detail of their respective weddings. At the top of their bridal must-have" list; a ceremony at New York's ultimate bridal destination, the Plaza Hotel. Now at age 26, they are both about to get married, realizing their dreams and about to live happily ever after. Or maybe not. When a clerical error causes a clash in wedding dates, they are now to be married on the same date. Liv, Emma and their lifelong friendship are put to the ultimate test. Liv, a successful lawyer who is used to getting what she wants; including the perfect job and the perfect man, won't settle for anything less than the perfect wedding she has dreamt of for years. Emma, a school teacher who has always been good at taking care of others but, not so much in looking after herself; discovers her inner Bridezilla and comes out swinging when her own dream wedding is imperiled. Now, the two best friends who do anything for each other find themselves in a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners struggle that threatens to erupt into all-out war. - Abstracted from Yahoo! Here comes my not-so impress verdict over noticeable, lack of humor chick flick. No wonder weddings are a dreaded event if "Bride Wars" be the case, as there's not much to be laughed about in this mirthless movie about two best friends trying to sabotage each other's matrimonial preparations when their wedding dates were accidentally booked on the same day at their much-sought venue. As if getting past the overly contrived premise isn't enough, the film's lackadaisical direction that centers on the increasingly cartoonish brushes between its shrill and dunderhead protagonists prove too much to salvage for the combined charm of Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. Instantly turn bitter rivals upon realizing that due to a scheduling foul up, only one of them can proceed. When neither bride-to-be would budge from the fully booked June date, both woman take their insubstantial conflict into a catty fight of who can outmaneuver the other into taking the remaining slot. From feeding Liv too much fattening indulgences so she can't fit into her Vera Wang dress to sabotaging her hair dye with luminous blue color. From disrupting Emma during a spray-painting to turn her skin into orange to exchanging the dvd for a huge embarassment. Such single-minded skirmish merely reduces its characters into irritating dunces when it's supposed to be the source of humor. Hudson and Hathaway may be charming women but no thanks to a hackneyed script, both actresses were reduce to annoying females in a drab romantic comedy which has an easy resolution obvious at the start, but won't go there before piling up on the slapstick with such airheaded vigor and patching them up with compulsory schmaltz. Bestfriends turned enemies with a mean streak in a sitcom of two bubble-brained is an absurdly outdated notion. Friendship triumphing over once in a lifetime affair showed not an ounce of intelligence or self-respect. Cause I am a truly believer that I'll want nothing but, the best for my friends and makes my presence felt on their wedding day. The only part I find pretty sweet was when she was proposed with the heartmelting Tiffany & Co ring probably, every girls dream. My face glowed at the sight of the Tiffany-color box. And, as I walked pass the boutique at Takashimaya, I couldn't get my eyes off it till Heartshape had to pull me away and distract my attention. I am just dreaming away but, Bvlgari or Cartier would be fine too. Just kidding lah! Perhaps having it as a theme color will be good enough. My weekends are always reserved to fall back into his arms from dawn to dusk. Most importantly, thank you for accompanying me to a girly kind of movie knowing, I wanted to watch it so bad. *flicks my hair On an unrelated note but on the topic of bestfriend, you turn a quarter century today. I am glad our friendship made this far and despite getting caught up with our own lives, we still check upon each other once in awhile. I'll never forsake nor trade this affiliation we have for anything in the world cause you were once my life savior. During the roughtest patch of my life, you embraced me when I breakdown in tears like a true friend would. During times when I ran out of my mind, you gave me a tongue-lashing with your straighforward yet, confiding remarks. For that, my gratitude goes to you and the Sengal Clan. As much as you have been there for me, I will always be there for you too. From those club scene addiction to skanking the night away at gigs. From riding aimlessly in our neighbourhood road to void deck bumming. From sharing the same genre of songs to our favorite section at Flash n Splash as Volcom-freaks. That's why, we are bestfriends till now and eternally. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIN. |

*// Retail therapy As I have guessed it right, insomnia strikes me hard tonight. Some thoughts crawled in and it sends creepy shivers to my delicate spine. I have to be awake by 6am to send the parental unit for her medical appointment and at this hour, my eyes are still glued to my laptop's screen. Being that usual routine I surfed my must-view websites and to my contentment, the hands began itching to all the sinful sight I stumbled upon. I declare defeat this time. The Fashion Festival by Studiofrost I am one of the many others whom are invited to their well-organized bonanza. But to my dismay, I missed it for the world cause assumingly preoccupied today. It will be such bliss if I am able to lay my hands on their headgears or the Babyfrost (not that I am pregnant or would be expecting anytime soon) edition is ubber cute. Nevertheless, I still could just view for my eye pleasure online. Gosh! I could have sworn it drive me out of sanity if I am present there. Victoria's Secret Spree If only I have a lump sum of money, spreeing on you will be my favorite pastime. At such grab-and-go prices slashed, how can I not have the urge to splurge? Dozens of items caught my attention, unsurprisingly. On the other hand, I am also in dire need to stock up some of the essential products too. And knowing me, I'll never trust those local stores selling be it at Mustafa Centre, Bugis nor Watson/Guardian outlets. Argh! Life of being a woman. This is truly frustrating. *starts sulking under her comforter like a baby |

*// Once upon a time It's only through this working experience, I gained a bundle of colleagues I am proud to call true friends (besides being in Sentosa). They might not realize this but, it has made me a better workaholic as a Junior Captain; the first jobscope which gave me a responsibility to lead the team. I am never the type who bossed around nor those who get ticked off at the slightest tiff. I chose to remain in the background and take silence as an action of peace. Never once raise my voice and often seems transparent at work. With colleagues like them (I am sure you know who you are), I became more adamant. At the slightest person whom stepped on my tail, I gave them a whole day of misery. A piece of my mind is something you seldom see unless during working hours. I shout and scream but, that's to those who work by bootlicking the higher authorities. I am known to be a perfectionist while carrying my job. That is just me by nature. That aside and through the days I get much closer to them it has been nothing but, all fun and laughter. The comfort zone got too infectious that some was transferred to other outlets as separation. Goodbyes are assumingly the hardest thing I have to do especially when its someone as dear as you. But, I could only count on my blessing and share his happiness as he seized the opportunity of having his dream job; a Flight Attendance in Northwest Airlines. Tears was shed during the process as I send him off at the airport cause a good friend like you is hard to come by. A year or so has come and passed yet, the sweet memories still vivid. It felt oh-so yesterday and I can't help but smile and teared a little at the thoughts of it. From being my mentor of salsa /chacha dancing to creating drinks in the bar. From the early train rides to the long bus journey home. From mugging ourselves at Starbucks to stuffing ourselves with Tamarind Chicken or Triple C Panini. From those self-absorbed phototaking to our usual dosage of gossips. From the craziness of lunch time to cursing irritating customers. I thank you and them whom always stood by and never lose faith in me. Treat me as a friend and never defy me as a lead. I miss all of that but, most of all I miss you and them too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY STARKEY. That's my advance wish for you, my dear friend all the way at Memphis. May a year older bring more blissful encounters in your daily life after a few unpleasant things that have occurred. I pray nothing but, all the best wishes for you, your career and your life ahead. Just so you know, whenever you chat with me in MSN (without any response), its actually my Mom and not me cause if you must know, I always appear offline. Never once fail to nudge you, if you were online. *chuckles loudly Most importantly, at least a layover in Singapore once in a blue moon for another session of coffee? |

*// Window into Palestine Note: Pictures uploaded here may have gruesome contents. Do not proceed for those whom are faint-hearted. This is just a piece of my solace thoughts. Any parties offended are solely pun intended. Kepadanya (Only to him) from Taufik Batisah featuring Hady Mirza relates best to me with this issue. The devastating Israeli firepower unleashed largely on Palestinian civilians in Gaza during two weeks of fighting. Its the product of advanced U.S. military technology provided by Washington and has been drawn into the political controversy over arms sales to Israel prompted by the assault on Gaza. From air and land bombardment to shelling their homes. From attacking with tank shell to Israeli fire. I, on the other hand thinks its a conspiracy from Bush as he stepped down from his position. I may not be following closely about the invasion nor massacre but, I do realize how this issue has been prolonged. I wonder why do such ouright military rights be granted if it meant harm to the innocents. I couldn't bring myself to upload more pictures cause it just bring tears to the eyes. And the death toll is increasing day by day. It is disturbing to know such immoral violence do occur in this civilised world. And, the presence of Barack Obama taking his responsibilities bring a glimpse of hope to hundreds and thousands and millions of people around the world. |

The good girl gone bad has promised to be good for one night on 13th February 09 - I'll be at that country on that very date (not to watch her again, of course). I am ubberly impressed by her for being able to accomodate the special request ruled to her by the authorities. From her usual sex appealing sense of fashion to being fully covered. Despite seeing her dressing up casually while going out but, for the upcoming show? How fascinating! R&B sensation Rihanna will shun skimpy outfits when she performs in Malaysia next month. Becoming the latest international star affected by the Muslim-majority country's strict rules on performers' dressup. Recent concerts by Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne faced protests by conservative Muslim Malaysians over immodest clothings. Gwen eventually made what she called "a major sacrifice" at her show by donning attire that revealed little skin. Under government guidelines, a female performer must be covered from the top of her chest including her shoulders all the way to her knees. The organizer of Pussycat Dolls concert in 2006 were fined nearly $3,000 after the U.S. girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations. The Malaysian organizers of Rihanna upcoming performance, voiced hopes that protests would not mar the Grammy-winning singer's hyped-up show. Rihanna's management is aware of the country's regulations and the difficulties of doing a show. However, the opposition Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party which blasted Lavigne's on-stage moves as "too sexy" last year, said in an online commentary that Rihanna was "sexier and more dangerous" than Lavigne. Rihanna will perform in a 16,000-capacity Kuala Lumpur stadium and just hours after newspapers announced the event, her tickets were briskly selling away. Why must I get so over the moon over this? Perhaps, its like back in those early teenage days where we idolise boy/girl bands and hummed over their song only to sing out loud. Following the dance choreographed by them. Its not a fanatic syndrome but, there's always a kid in me. Just that I simply over the moon by her. I've watched some leak video of her 2009 album and I can't wait to lay my hands on them when its release. |

*// Starstruck Oh my god! First was Rihanna and now this. I am really going to Jason Mraz concert at the Indoor Stadium on 5th March 2009. He is a brilliant record singer and definitely, much better singing live. If I may add, he's one of my favorite musician. My heartfelt thanks to Heartshape for accomplishing my second dream (the first was my BFF solemnisation) to kick start the year. You ain't a sweet talker nor know your ways to date/surprise me. You are an a*shole at that but, this little things you did makes me dumfounded. That's why I love you, I really do. P.S. Of all due respect, should I let the cat out of the bag, Heartshape? *chuckles |

*// Eternity It was of great honour being able to view first-hand of you both donning on the exquisite costume during the trial session. Getting to aid them in choosing the right accessories and whether it fits rightly or choosing the other made my heart beat accelerates. I just want nothing but, the best for them as they deserve nothing less than that. This is just a sneak preview for your eye pleasure. Picture taken by yours truly and credited to Watie. On three consecutive days before her Solemnisation Day, it was a great time spent with the BFFs and that includes you, Lisa as this don't comes often due to our own commitments. From having lunch together at Vivocity to that henna night witnessing how she is really getting hitch the next day (where the Bridesmaid get their henna done too). From the manicure session where we paint to suit the color theme to the early gathering on the actual day. Thanks Aiyda for the pretty gift which comes as a surprise to me. When you were all dressed beyond gorgeousness and when Dino was uttering his vows I can never thank him enough for sweeping my princess off her feet. When all the gifts were readily set and how the decorations fall in place with flower petals everywhere. I dreamt for a moment and as I slapped back to reality, I realize tears was brimming in my eyes. The mixed emotions were too overwhelming while tears may flow anytime but another part of me just wanna keep smiling sharing your joy on your most memorable day. May this love you have for each other remains a lifetime and thereafter. You have us through your passing days, together in a new stage of marriage life. There are bound to be the up and down yet, it only makes the both of you stronger. And when you can't wait for my turn as much as I do but by then, you would have your generation I suppose. When that time comes, you three will also be my Bridesmaids ushering me through the whole thing. Insyallah. I love you just as much, my BFF. Cinderella and his prince lived happily ever after. *lifts skirt and bows |

*// Farewell 2008 This entry may come as being tad too late as a few days have already passed through. A year passed unbelievably fast in a blink of an eye. Hence, I am contented at where things are currently. I always thought 365 days a year can never be enough. And every other year I dreamt to be lawfully wedded by the age of 25 with the man of my life. Friendship that is left are meant for keepsake to eternity and those that fall out are inevitable. I am overprotective and defensive over people that means so much in my life. I celebrated my countdown over matter of the heart and after watching our first fireworks together, I prefer to curl up like a baby and gets snuggly in his embrace. 2008 has kept me sane and 2009 will put to a state of surrealism, I reckon. I was indulging myself with excessive love from people that matters most. 1. Missed countdown with my usual clan, the Hirok Pikok 2. Exhilarating family chalet all the way at Bukom 3. Coupling up more quality time with Heartshape 4. View my best girlfriend donning on a gorgeous white dress 5. Girly session with Umra-jaan with lots of fun and laughter 6. Dropping by Velocity to give Fiza a surprise visit 7. Chillaxing session with my bestfriend, Kencet I thank Allah that he gave me the time to close my chapter of 2008 with much contentment. While everyone list down a whole string of to-do list for the year, I chose the latter. All I pray for are neverending love and happiness to people who revolves in my life. Just be thankful for ever littlest things that come my way. On my part, I in dire need to stop splurging frantically and start massive saving. And in the midst of bliss and all, I have my fair share of despair but that only instilled more strength especially with people who show endless care. I am walking my life as it is, tiny steps a day at a time. Deep in my heart I know it will lead me there someday, somehow. I look forward to every tomorrow and this year I've erased that doubtful sentiments. Cause you, the reason that made me certain standing in this facade world - You complete me. On an unrelated note, I received a message from Jay earlier this morning. Adik's dad is undergoing an operation today. My heartfelt prayers goes to you and family. Al-fatehah. Reciting some prayers gives much faith, you can do your part too. Everything will fall in place and be back to the healthy state after this day forward. Insyallah. |
