Short escapade.
 It has been ages since I stepped out of my nutshell in Singapore so, I thought its only wise to take a breather of a different air (besides a visit to Johore). I did not hesitate to tagged along the sisters, Yaya and Kak Rini for a short trip to Batam. The main itinery was to collect their 'Hari Raya' clothings but for me, it was more on food indulgence. Sadly, there was too little time yet too many things to be done; the reason why I didn't manage to grab a bite at A&W or packed a box of J.Co donuts to bring home. But I did not regret a single second of it. *winks  We had those typical Indonesian-snack by the road side, tried out the KFC which unbelievably tasted better than what we have here and Es Teler. While they were busy doing some last minute trial and alteration, I walked around in search of a nice headscarfs for Momma and bought three pieces for her. As for me, the only thing I splurged on was that classic manicure and pedicure which comes with a foot reflexology. Just what I needed after my post-ache of wearing 6inches killer heels and my busy working schedule.   While they did a full body massage, I chose a different service all because of my phobia and horror of the first-time experience. Maybe I'm that conservative or plainly uncomfortable. I believed my closest friends should know why. That I shall keep my mouth zipped. Haha~ We then rushed like mad as we were taking the last ferry back home at 21:00 and by the time we left the spa it was already 20:15. Thank god, the taxi driver was 'too fast too furious' (plus good looking too) and we did not negotiate or hesitate to pay the bill of 50K rupiah. P.S. Last year during Syawal, I dislocated my backbone in a minor accident and now I am recuperating from my limping right leg. I want to get well for Raya, please. |

Bitter heart.
Everytime when the month of Syawal draws closer and joyful songs filled the air, it left me with an extreme ache in the heart. Especially when 'takbir' was on air and as I do the morning prayer it never fails to bring tears in my eyes. The thoughts of my beloved late grannies kept rewinding and replaying at the back of my mind. I had too much memories that is un-erasable through time. And the only regret would be, I wasn't given the time to repay the kindness they brought into my life ever since I was born. Since they left this world for the better, Hari Raya seems incomplete without them for a decade or so. I'm a crybaby and at times I cried myself to sleep when I yearn so much for their presence, at least in my dreams. P.S. I teared while I walked home last night and now, tears are brimming as I penned this down and the reason why this month I've been quite a baby. In the name of love, I hope you understand that its the regular phase in life I have to face time and time again. |
